My name is Teddy and I’m a writer. I help brands like Apple, Spotify, Stripe, Figma, WeWork, and Squarespace tell stories. I also write about stuff for the New Yorker, the New York Times, the BBC, Rolling Stone, Fast Company, Vice, and the Village Voice.

I’ve been working in content strategy, branded content, and journalism for more than a decade. I began my career working for SPIN and Billboard—well technically I began my career as a city planner but that’s another story—writing about music festivals. Pretty soon I started working as a freelance creative for the content studios at Vox, Fast Company, Axios, Genius, and became the editorial director of the BBC’s custom content studio, StoryWorks.

From there I moved onto working with brands, doing everything from building a series of magazines for Spotify and writing white papers for Stripe to helping Squarespace go longform and leading brand editorial for Wix and Figma.

Outside of my work with brands and content studios, I’m also a freelance journalist focusing on culture and music. I’ve written features about the contested origins of techno for the New Yorker, dove into a treasure trove of mixtapes that tell stories of love and lost for the New York Times, talked to Nick Hakim for Rolling Stone, profiled Courtney Barnett for the Village Voice, covered stadium funding fiascos for Deadspin, and written dispatches from Berlin for Vice.

If your brand needs help telling a story, chances are I can help you.
